Joy was my tutor for all of Calculus 3. She was the best tutor I could have possibly asked for. She goes through questions very slowly and will explain concepts if needed. She would always make time for me and she actually cares about how well I do. If it wasn't for her, I would not have survived Calc 3. It is pretty ironic that her name is Joy because she is genuinely a joy to work with. I cannot recommend her enough!

I have been meeting with Joy weekly for the past three semesters, where she helped me through calc II and III, and differential equations (calc IV) where my lessons with her have made me feel so much more confident about the class material and exams. She is great at slowing down and explaining tough concepts that my in-class professors did not explain well.

As a parent, I am very grateful that Joy has been a tutor for my son. She has had a positive impact on his perceptions of math as well as a substantial positive influence on the outcomes in the course he just completed.

My son reports that Joy has an exceptional understanding of advanced mathematics, particularly multivariable calculus. She is able to explain difficult material in a way that builds both understanding and confidence. Her ability to identify specific areas where improvement was needed and then focus instruction in a very effective and encouraging way was repeatedly mentioned by my son.

I think it is important to note that the tutoring experience with Joy was influential enough that my son is considering changing majors from economics to mathematical economics. I think this is the greatest evidence of the quality of her instruction and mentorship.

My son plans to continue working with Joy next term for probability and statistics coursework.

I would strongly recommend Joy to any student (or parent seeking to find a way to be supportive of a student) that is taking quantitative and statistical courses.

I thought my grade in Math 112 was unrecoverable before meeting with Ms. Joy, now I have the highest grade I have ever had in a math class! I have always thought of math as my least favorite subject, but now I actually enjoy doing my homework because Ms. Joy is explains the "hows" and "whys" of each problem. She is extremely patient and encouraging! I love to text her after finishing a test because we both celebrate my score together! She is also very flexible and has worked closely with me to figure out the best times to meet. I could not recommend her more!
