About Joshua
I graduated from the University of Rochester with a double major in English (Language, Media, and Communications) and Brain and Cognitive Science (Language and Development). With previous coursework in rhetorical strategy, metadiscourse, public speaking, and linguistics, I possess the academic foundation required to successfully explain writing concepts and techniques. As a Writing Lab Coordinator for Brainfuse, I teach students to improve their writing using the proven strategies I have acquired.

I provide writing feedback and instruction to high school and college students alike. Most students request assistance with development, organization, formatting, style, and grammar. However, I also teach higher level students to incorporate advanced writing techniques into their academic papers.
I approach teaching from a comprehension-based perspective; because I possess a background in cognitive science, I have come to understand how we process language (written and spoken). Thus, I can explain why certain sentences are incorrect, confusing, and/or ineffective based on psycholinguistics, which studies the intersection of language and psychology.

I met Josh in college. I have never been a good writer but Josh has helped me review several papers and essays through several different college courses.
