About Abby
I have 10 years professional experience in mathematics teaching, tutoring and teacher training & development both in the UK and internationally.
I studied Mathematics at the University of Leeds before completing a PGCertEd in Education and obtaining Qualified Teacher Status as a Mathematics Secondary teacher.
Since then, I have built, and consulted for, Education businesses and non-profits including curriculum development in line with UK, USA and Australian national curricula.
I continue to tutor as I love nothing more than supporting students to have those 'Oh! Now I get it!' moments.
When learning with me, students can expect to feel safe, valued and motivated to succeed.

My aim is to help students build a 'Growth Mindset' to help combat anxiety around learning maths.
My teaching style is student-centred and focuses on mastery of mathematical concepts rather than memorising facts/algorithms without an understanding of the 'why'.
I link learning to real life contexts and equip students with the tools to unpick problems and make mathematical connections.
My lessons:
- Are either 25 minutes, or 50 minutes long
- Support students from Primary (aged 5+) to A-Level/Adult Learners
- Are always virtual
