I am a graduate student and have been associated with academics for quite a long time. I understand why professionalism and empathy are needed to help anyone learn new concepts for the first time, hence I always try to be mindful of the above.

I try to explain concepts from an application perspective. In my opinion, one should learn why they are learning a concept and then actually learn the concept :)
I apply that to my learning strategies and it has done wonders for me. I have had a great career in software development and engineering and currently pursuing my graduate studies at the University of Waterloo.
