About Victoria

Hi! I'm a second-year Psychology major at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and I enjoy working with children and helping them learn new things. I have experience working in after-school care, which has helped me understand the importance of being patient, supportive, and willing to work with each child's individual needs. I know that learning can sometimes be challenging for young students, so I want to make lessons fun, engaging, and easier to understand. I like using activities, visual aids, and games to help children practice their skills while building confidence in themselves. Outside of school, I'm also involved in my university's marching band, which has taught me the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and dedication. As a tutor, my goal is to help children feel comfortable asking questions, learn from their mistakes, and feel proud of their progress. My approach to tutoring is to make learning fun, interactive, and easy for each student to understand. I also believe it is important to create a supportive environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again without feeling discouraged. What sets me apart is my patience, willingness to try different teaching strategies, and focus on helping students build confidence in their abilities. As a university student, I understand the importance of developing strong academic foundations, and I want to help young learners build those foundations early. My lessons are designed for preschool-aged children preparing for kindergarten and kindergarten students who need additional support with their schoolwork. I can help students develop foundational skills such as letter and number recognition, counting, letter sounds, early reading, handwriting, and following instructions. My goal is to make each lesson enjoyable and productive while helping students become more confident, independent learners who are prepared for their next stage of education.
