About Leon
Hi, I’m Leon. I am a University of Alberta Computing Science graduate and a current Research Assistant in the Statistics Department. I have over 4 years of experience tutoring both high school and university students in mathematics and statistics, including challenging courses like Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Introductory Statistics. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into clear, practical steps and providing guided practice, assignment support, and exam preparation. My goal is to help students build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and succeed in their courses. I tailor each lesson to the student’s level and goals, making learning effective, manageable, and even enjoyable. Whether you’re preparing for IB Math, first-year university courses, or advanced high school math, I can guide you through the material and help you stay ahead.

I help students tackle challenging mathematics courses, from high school to university level, including Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Introductory Statistics. My approach focuses on breaking down complex concepts into clear, practical steps so they are easier to understand, retain, and apply.
A typical lesson starts with reviewing material from your lectures or assignments, identifying areas where you’re struggling, and working through guided practice problems together. I also provide strategies for exam preparation and step-by-step assignment support, helping you build confidence and problem-solving skills along the way.
What sets me apart is over 4 years of tutoring experience, combined with my background as a University of Alberta graduate and current Research Assistant. I have successfully helped students keep up with demanding courses, prepare for exams, and strengthen their understanding of core mathematical concepts.
My lessons are designed for high school students preparing for advanced math courses or IB-level classes, as well as university students taking first- and second-year math and statistics courses. I tailor each session to your level and goals to make learning effective and manageable.
