About Leah
I am a second-year University of Cambridge student studying geography. I have a huge passion for learning and I am enthusiastic about sharing this with my students. I worked with tutors throughout my time in school to help with various aspects of my academics. Through this, I have been able to develop my teaching style to relate to my peers and provide a more enjoyable session. I am an active person who loves to play sport, particularly hockey and GAA. I have also undertaken coaching roles in sport so I am confident that I can provide sessions which are fun and engaging whilst supporting academic confidence and progress.

I offer a range of techniques that are tailored to the student's learning style. This includes verbally explaining concepts, visually explaining concepts through whiteboards, diagrams and worked examples.
I work to provide a range of resources for the student to use which include detailed notes for revision, videos for further explanation/understanding and a range of practice questions.
Lessons will usually be 1 hour, where I will review work from previous lessons and ask the student if they are unclear about any topics or had any issues with work set which I can address. There will be the main teaching block where I explain concepts and work through examples to consolidate understanding. The student will then have some time to attempt questions themselves and can clarify anything they still don't understand. The student will have a short set of questions to complete by themselves before the next lesson.
I have previously worked with students sitting final year exams, specifically A-levels and the Leaving Certificate. I have also worked with students from a range of ages and across various subjects through peer mentoring and other academic tutoring opportunities.
I am available to tutor for a range of ages including junior school, GCSE and A-level.
