About Sylvia

Bonjour! I’m a dedicated French tutor with over 10 years of language study, including French and Sociology at university, and time spent living in France. My passion for languages drives me to help others discover the beauty and practicality of learning French.

I believe that language learning goes beyond memorising grammar—it’s about building confidence, exploring culture, and developing communication skills. Whether you're a beginner or preparing for exams, my supportive and adaptable teaching approach is designed to help you succeed!

About the lesson

With over 10 years of French study, including at university level, and 2+ years of tutoring experience, I offer tailored lessons to help you improve your language skills. Having lived in France for a few months, I incorporate cultural insights alongside language learning to provide a holistic understanding of French.

My lessons focus on building confidence in both written and spoken French through interactive activities, as well as developing strong exam techniques. A typical session lasts 30 minutes to one hour and I am flexible with scheduling.

Ideal for beginners to intermediate learners, including school students, adult learners, and those preparing for GCSE exams. I tailor all sessions to meet the needs and goals of students, so feel free to reach out to discuss this or anything else further with me!
