About Jonathan
I'm Jonathan! I've recently graduated from UCLA with a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. After going through several years of collegiate education, I can say for a fact that your experience is heavily dependent on your instructors. They have the power to shape your experience in any field, and will play a major role in your future interests and career. However, sometimes it can be frustrating when you have a professor that doesn't quite highlight the material in a way that clicks with you, or delivers the information in an unengaging way.
That's where I come in! As someone who has experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly of both college and high school education, I've gathered an understanding of how to make learning more effective. During my previous experience as a teaching assistant at my high school, I witnessed firsthand how students in the class were processing information differently. I learned a lot about how to make ideas more palatable, and how to adapt to each unique teaching moment. Even trying to explain concepts during college study sessions taught me so much about perspective taking and how to communicate concisely.
Tutoring is a wonderful opportunity to supplement learning in a more personalized way, and I'm more than ready to meet any needs necessary to make your experience more exciting. Hope to see you in a lesson or two!

I believe the most important trait of an educator is their ability to relate to their students. It makes it so much easier to teach once you understand how people operate; however, every student learns in their own unique way, so a one-size-fits-all approach is next to impossible. What I can offer is a flexible, engaging learning experience that will be tailored to each individual student. I am comfortable covering all basic mechanical engineering concepts, as well as topics in math and physics. So for any high school or college students that need help with homework, exams, or clarifying class material, don't hesitate to reach out!
