About Britney
I'm here to help and inspire! No matter what your current understanding of science is, what is important to me is curiosity! I love questions; the whys, the hows, and the what ifs, since they are what make science so fun! I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from UCLA where I also worked as a research assistant in a bioengineering lab for 3+ years. This allowed me to fully grasp the scientific method and all the intricacies that chemistry has to offer.
I love to teach and mentor. I volunteered as an online tutor for 3 years before I began to tutor at an elementary school for the following 2 years.

I make science fun! I started my tutoring career working with elementary school students so I know how to make lessons enjoyable, engaging, and easy to learn! A typical lesson plan would begin with goal setting. Do you want to understand the 5 main types of chemical reactions or do you want to learn the difference between alkanes, alkenes, and alkynes?
Then we go into the content review, a small lesson with key concepts, presented in a digestible way.
The bulk of the lesson will be used for practice in order to stimulate active recall and pattern recognition.
I have the most experience working with students aged 7-15, however I can tutor learners of all ages in upper level chemistry!
