About Catherine
I am currently an experienced Tutor for Secondary school students age 11 and above since May 2018. I achieved three A's in A-level Maths, Biology, and Chemistry.
A number of my students have obtained 8s and 9s in GCSE Maths and Science

First we estabilish the students strengths and weaknesses. This could be done through discuss, school reports and/or a series of sort tests.
The lesson structure I use involves describing and explaining the basic theory/concepts of a topic, progressing further if the student is able to grasp it. I will try other ways of explaining the information if they do not understand it the first time. Once we've covered the lesson plan, I will give the student some questions to try and providing guidance when needed. I provide a short homework to be completed for the next session so I can gauge how well the student has taken the information and whether I need to spend more time on the subject with them.
