About Benjamin
Alongside my studies, I have experience teaching large groups of children through after-school golf lessons. I worked with students of different ages and skill levels, which taught me how to explain ideas clearly, keep groups engaged, and adjust my teaching depending on how each student learns.
That experience carries directly into tutoring. I’m comfortable being patient, answering questions in different ways, and helping students build confidence with material that may initially feel difficult. I try to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through mistakes.

My name is Benjamin, and my goal is to make math feel more understandable and less overwhelming. I like to figure out exactly where a student is getting stuck, then break the problem down into smaller steps and explain the reasoning behind each one.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of the topic and any homework or questions the student has. From there, we work through a few examples together, then I have the student try similar problems on their own so I can see what they understand and where they need more help.
I focus on understanding concepts instead of just memorizing formulas. If one explanation does not click, I will try a different way of showing it until it makes sense.
I am an Applied & Computational Mathematics student at UCI, and I also have experience teaching kids through golf instruction. That experience helped me learn how to be patient, communicate clearly, and adjust my teaching style for different students.
My lessons are for middle school, high school, and college students who need help with Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability, Statistics, and related math courses. I can help with homework, test preparation, catching up, or getting ahead.
