About Tiffany
Hi! I’m Tiffany, and I’ve been tutoring students for over 7 years. I’ve worked with students ranging from preschool through high school, helping with everything from early reading, writing, and math skills to algebra, geometry, science, history, test preparation, and essay writing.
I graduated from UC Santa Barbara and later attended Columbia Engineering, so education has always been a big part of my life. But what I love most about tutoring isn’t just the academics—it’s getting to know each student and figuring out what makes learning click for them.
I’m naturally patient, encouraging, and very adaptable. I know that not every student learns the same way, so I never expect one teaching method to work for everyone. I enjoy finding different ways to explain a concept until a student has that “Ohhh, I get it!” moment.
I’ve also had the opportunity to work with some students for several years, which has allowed me to watch them grow not only academically, but also in their confidence and independence.
I want my students to feel comfortable asking me questions, telling me when they’re confused, and making mistakes without feeling embarrassed. My goal is to create a positive environment where students feel supported, capable, and proud of the progress they’re making.
Most importantly, I want students to leave our sessions feeling a little more confident than when they came in.

I believe the best tutoring happens when a student feels comfortable enough to ask questions, make mistakes, and admit when something doesn’t make sense. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and highly personalized—I adjust the way I explain a concept depending on how each student learns best.
With over 7 years of tutoring experience and experience working with students from preschool through high school, I’ve learned that there is rarely only one way to teach something. If one explanation doesn’t click, I’ll find another approach, use examples, break the concept into smaller pieces, or connect it to something the student already understands.
My goal isn’t simply to help students finish their homework or get the right answer. I want them to understand why something works and eventually feel confident solving problems on their own. I also try to create an environment where learning feels approachable rather than intimidating. I celebrate progress, encourage curiosity, and help students build confidence in subjects they may have previously thought they were “bad” at.
Every student learns differently, so I meet them where they are and build from there.
