About Émile
I have a Bachelor of Mathematics from Carleton University. I've tutored calculus and linear algebra, for business, science, and engineering students, as well as differential equations and mathematical reasoning/logic. I've been a teaching assistant for most courses offered at Carleton University, including many 3rd year courses as well as honours courses (e.g. Math 1002/1102, Math 3002, etc).

I prefer to focus on concrete examples. I believe that working through examples is one of the most effective was to learn and retain concepts, and to help students get past that feeling of staring at a question on a test and having no idea where to start. After examples I do a big picture recap of all the important steps, and mention common mistakes that students make. I also offer study advice, as well as make lists with them of things they just have to straight up memorize.

Details
Typically for high school level classes I charge 20$ per hour. It's also possible to arrange for group study sessions, for examples 40$ an hour for a group of 2 students (20$ each). Open to other arrangements as well.
