About Stevie

Hello! My name is Stevie, and I’m passionate about helping students unlock their full potential in mathematics. With experience in space operations and analysis, I’ve spent years applying advanced math and problem-solving in high-stakes, real-world situations — where accuracy truly matters. That experience taught me that math isn’t just numbers — it’s logic, structure, and creativity working together to solve challenges. I bring that same mindset into every tutoring session, showing my students how math connects to real-world applications in science, engineering, and everyday life. I’ve worked with students from middle school through college, helping them overcome math anxiety, master challenging topics, and achieve measurable improvement in grades and confidence. My approach is patient, professional, and highly personalized — I believe every student can succeed when given the right guidance and encouragement. When you work with me, you’re not just learning math — you’re learning how to think critically, approach problems strategically, and build the confidence to tackle any challenge. I take pride in maintaining a high level of professionalism in every interaction: clear communication, reliability, and genuine care for each student’s progress. If you’re ready to take your math skills to the next level, I’d love to help you get there. Let’s make math your strongest subject — and maybe even one you enjoy.

My tutoring approach is built on clarity, connection, and confidence. I focus on helping students truly understand the “why” behind each concept rather than just memorizing formulas. By breaking complex problems into simple, logical steps, I help students develop problem-solving skills that last far beyond the classroom.

Because of my background in space operations and analysis, I bring real-world context to math — showing how it’s used in navigation, engineering, and physics. This not only makes lessons more interesting but helps students see math as something practical and exciting, not intimidating.

I adapt my teaching style to each student’s needs — visual, verbal, or hands-on — and use a mix of examples, guided practice, and short assessments to track progress.

A Typical Lesson Plan:

1. Warm-Up (5–10 min): Quick review of previous material to reinforce retention.

2. Core Lesson (25–30 min): Introduction of a new topic or skill, using relatable analogies and interactive examples.

3. Practice (20–25 min): Work through problems together, focusing on process, not just answers.

4. Recap & Preview (5–10 min): Summarize key takeaways, preview next topic, and assign practice problems if desired.

Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals — whether it’s catching up, getting ahead, or preparing for an exam.

What Sets Me Apart:

Real-World Expertise: I use my space experience to make abstract math concepts concrete and engaging.

Personalized Approach: Every student learns differently; I adjust my pace, methods, and examples to fit your style.

Mentorship Mindset: I don’t just teach math — I help build problem-solving confidence and analytical thinking skills.

Results-Driven: My students often see improvement within just a few sessions because I emphasize understanding, not rote repetition.

Who My Lessons Are For:

Middle school and high school students who want to strengthen math fundamentals or prepare for advanced coursework.

College students needing support in algebra, pre-calculus, or calculus.

Test-takers preparing for SAT, ACT, or ASVAB exams.

Anyone looking to sharpen their math skills or gain confidence in problem-solving.

Whether you’re struggling with equations or aiming for top scores, I’ll meet you where you are and help you get where you want to be.
