About Marissa
I have a degree in Anthropology with an unending interest in people and their unique stories. I am TEFl certified from the International Tefl Academy. During the course, I completed 20+ hours of tutoring, both for adults and children K-8. Upon receiving my certification, I spent 3 months as a live-in English tutor in Italy. Since 2019, I have worked in the hostel industry, fostering multi-cultural relationships and meeting people from all over the world!

Based on my experiences, I have wanted to create a teaching method that is relaxed, enjoyable and interesting. That is why my teaching approach is based around TPR. I think it is important to captivate a student's attention by discussing topics that interest them. I try to deviate from a rigid structure and instead develop lessons that feel like conversation, with games and activities that are universal.
