About Alex
Currently, I'm in the second year of my PhD at Imperial College where I work in a molecular biology lab. I also hold a masters degree in Biosciences from the University of Bath and an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Exeter.
During my PhD I have taught a number of undergraduates during lab practicals and have supervised both undergraduate and masters students during summer placement projects. In the past I have also informally mentored family friends in GCSE sciences.
I'm sure you can tell from my background I am incredibly passionate about science and I want to share that with others too.

My method of teaching consists of breaking down larger subjects into smaller, more manageable chunks which enables far simpler assimilation of knowledge. This is then followed by consolidation using real-world examples and exam questions.
Based on my experience revising for exams during my degrees, I can assist in preparing revision aids which help to further consolidate that knowledge and provide a safety net when attempting mock exams for the first time.
I like to place the topics being learnt into the context of a wider world, as I feel this approach helps to foster inquisitive thinking and inspire interest.
