About Robyn
Hi, I’m Robyn! I’m currently studying Sport and Exercise Science at Durham University. My passion for sport started at a very young age I love getting involved with any kind of physical activity, I carried this with me through studying both GCSE and A-Level Physical Education. During my studies my interest for the theory side started to grow and it never stopped growing. I still have passion for sport itself, I am part of my university Cheerleading team and I am a big football fan but I find this particularly more interesting now as I’m able to apply so much knowledge to the practical side.
As a student I like to make life as easy as I can for myself as the amount of content can be overwhelming. I do this by coming up with little tips and tricks to help remember pieces of content that can be particularly difficult to grasp. I do this by creating things such as anagrams and using little anecdote, this helps decrease the workload as certain pieces of information become unforgettable. I personally revise well through revision cards however visual aids such as posters and mind maps can be a great way at consolidating material. I believe that understanding and repetition of information is the key to achieving your best academically. Each person works differently and I can’t wait to work with you and figure out with you how you learn best and how I can provide support to help the workload seem less overwhelming and you to feel confident in your learning.

My lessons are specific to each individual as each student has their own way of learning which they find most beneficial to retain information. As a tutor I aim to establish these methods and implement into our sessions so that the student leaves feeling accomplished and confident in the knowledge they have just learnt. Sessions can be based around the individual needs of the student, wether that be going over key content which they may be struggling with in lesson, finding the best revision techniques and doing revision together or going through exams and working on exam technique.
My sessions will be interactive and I will make specific resources such as PowerPoints, diagrams and revision summaries to aid the student with there studies. My session will be a positive environment that is encouraging and builds confidence. There will be no such thing as a silly question and I will seek feedback from my students to ensure the sessions are helping them as much as possible.
