About Moses
I am a Certified Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) educator with over six years of experience providing specialized support for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental delays, and communication difficulties. I specialize in speech therapy and language intervention for children with autism, supporting non-verbal and minimally verbal children who experience speech delay, language delay, and challenges with functional communication.
My approach is centered on helping children develop meaningful communication skills through evidence-based strategies, individualized intervention plans, and child-focused learning approaches. I understand that every child with Autism has unique abilities, learning preferences, and communication needs. Therefore, I design personalized sessions that focus on each child's strengths while supporting their specific developmental goals.
With professional training in Special Education, TEFL, and specialized certification from the Clerc Center at Gallaudet University, Washington, D.C., focused on expressive language development and communication support, I bring a strong foundation in inclusive education and effective communication strategies. I use a combination of speech therapy techniques, signs, gestures, visual supports, and alternative communication methods such as AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) when appropriate to help children with Autism and speech delay express their needs, improve interaction, and develop greater confidence.
I strongly believe that meaningful progress happens through collaboration between educators and families. I work closely with parents by sharing practical strategies, guidance, and activities that can be integrated into everyday routines to strengthen communication skills beyond therapy sessions.
My goal is to help every child overcome communication barriers, develop functional language skills, and discover their own unique way of expressing themselves whether through speech, signs, gestures, or alternative communication while building confidence, independence, and meaningful connections with the people around them.

Communication is the foundation of connection, learning, and independence. For children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech delay, or other communication challenges, finding the right support can make a meaningful difference in their ability to express themselves and interact with the world around them. My personalized speech and language therapy sessions are designed to support non-verbal children, minimally verbal children, and children experiencing language and communication difficulties through structured, engaging, and child-centered intervention.
Each session begins with a detailed understanding of your child's current communication abilities, interests, strengths, challenges, and developmental needs. Based on this assessment, I create an individualized intervention plan using evidence-based speech therapy strategies and language development approaches that encourage functional communication, confidence, and independence.
During my sessions, I focus on:
* Developing early communication skills, including eye contact, joint attention, turn-taking, imitation, and other pre-verbal communication abilities.
* Encouraging functional communication through gestures, signs, visual supports, pictures, AAC/PECS (where appropriate), or spoken language.
* Improving receptive language skills, including understanding instructions, identifying objects, following directions, and processing everyday communication.
* Building expressive language skills by encouraging requesting, labeling, commenting, answering questions, and expressing thoughts and needs.
* Supporting children with speech delay through activities that target speech clarity, sound production, articulation, and oral-motor awareness when appropriate.
* Strengthening social communication skills, including interaction, play skills, conversation, and meaningful engagement with others.
* Reducing communication frustration by teaching effective ways for children with Autism and other communication challenges to express their wants, needs, emotions, and ideas.
My speech and language therapy approach combines structured learning activities, play-based intervention, visual supports, positive reinforcement, and active parent involvement to maximize progress beyond our sessions. Parents receive practical strategies and home activities that can be incorporated into daily routines, allowing children to practice and generalize their communication skills in natural environments.
Every lesson is carefully individualized because no two children with Autism, speech delay, or communication difficulties are the same. Whether your child is beginning their communication journey, is non-verbal, minimally verbal, or requires additional support with language development, my focus is to provide compassionate and effective intervention that helps them make meaningful, measurable progress at a pace that respects their unique abilities and needs.
