I have a wealth of experience of teaching GCSE and A-level English Language and English Literature in schools and colleges and have worked with a range of exam board specifications and reforms. Whether you require extra support or new challenges, I will help you to unlock your potential in English studies.
I will start by getting to know you and looking at examples of your work to identify strengths and area for improvement. I will then plan a course of personalised lessons to target your learning needs. In my teaching, I find it important to inspire learners by drawing resources from different media, on subjects which interest and engage them. From these initial ideas, we will turn to the specific reading and writing skills that you need to develop to respond to, or create, texts. When you write answers or assignments, I will give detailed feedback so that you know what you are doing well, and how you can improve further. We will track your progress to make sure you reach your learning goals.
Over the years, I have specialised in both A-level English Language and English Literature, guiding students to exam success. So, I bring to tutees, both online, via Skype, and face-to-face, not only an extensive range of English teaching skills, but also rich subject knowledge, enthusiasm for learning and the dedication to help you maximise your performance.
