About Joseph

Hi, I’m J. Alexander, a singing and songwriting teacher with a Master’s degree in Songwriting and Music Business from Berklee College of Music. I’m also Level III certified in Somatic Voicework, and I’ve trained directly with Jeanie LoVetri, the creator of the Somatic Voicework approach.

My teaching style is vocal health first, practical, and results-driven. Whether you’re working on confidence, consistency, stamina, or strengthening your mix, I help you build real progress through clear exercises and structured training.

About the lesson

My Teaching Method & Techniques

My lessons are vocal health first, science-based, and practical. I focus on helping you build coordination, control, and confidence through exercises you can actually repeat and use. We’ll work on registers (chest, head, mix), vowel clarity, resonance, reducing strain, and developing a stronger, more reliable voice.

A Typical Lesson Plan

- Quick check-in + goal for the day

- Targeted warm-up

- Core exercises for your specific needs

- Song application (apply technique to real music)

- Simple practice plan for the week

What sets me apart

I keep things clear, supportive, and results-driven. My approach is about training smart and staying healthy so you make progress without forcing or overthinking. You’ll leave every lesson knowing exactly what to practice and why it works.

Who lessons are for

Lessons are for beginners through advanced singers who want real progress: stronger high notes, better mix, more stamina, less tension, and more consistency. I also support songwriting and performance preparation across pop, R&B, and musical theatre.
