About Alex
Hi! I am a second year biochem student with a real interest in pharmacology and evolutionary biology. I am an ambassador for the UK's Biochemical society, regularly attend scientific conferences and have a lot of experince in applying to grants and opportunities. All of this is from a love of developing myself as a scientist. Previous students I have tutoured have mentioned how this has helped them understand the applications of science post secondary school.
I have tutored maths and biology for just under 6 months with 2 A-level students since achieving A's in maths and biology alongside a B in chemistry. I also regularly work and teach ages 6-18 due to volunteering at scouts and girlguides, so I am open to tutoring any age!

I have just under 6 months of tutoring experience in A level Biology and maths. I am now advertising biology at A level standard however would love the opportunity to tutor GCSE chemistry, maths and biology students. Alongside experience in academics, I enjoy being able to advise students on other areas of University life such as finance, study planning and lab work.
2 hour lessons give a perfect opportunity to spend 40 minutes understanding your understanding of the topic through questions and recall activities. This would then be followed by a 10 minute break and the following time to be used for new learning and explanation. I like to end with a 10 minute focus on understanding the language of topic's questions that are commonly asked, after all we all know biology mark schemes can be unforgiving!
This is my general structure, however I understand that older students will have preffered learning styles and I am entirely open to specific requests!
