About Jon
I am a retired webmaster, having worked for a large aerospace corporation for 32 years. I worked with everything from Vax and Prime minicomputers to the latest virtual OS systems like Linux and most variants of Windows based systems. I specialized in web site development having been the company webmaster from 1995 up until my retirement in 2017. I am new to the online teaching scene, but am familiar with lessons plans online, having completed my bachelor degree in Information Technology (BSIT) from the University of Phoenix in 2008.
I am heavily experienced in a wide range of languages including most scripting languages like BASH, C-shell, DOS batch, JavaScript, Powershell, BASIC variants of many types, PHP, Mysql, standard SQL, Cold Fusion Markup Language and many more. My work on web application projects was so varied and complex, I often mixed and matched two or more of these together in my work. I also worked on secure file transfer systems, having pioneered a secure web transfer system that was instrumental in the success of many spacecraft propulsion projects over a twenty year time span. That system is, for the moment, still operational and outlasted me!

When I worked in aerospace, I often had to teach my clients how to solve the problems WITH us and to factor them into the solution we were building together. As I am new to teaching online, I will apply that same thinking to the student. I will listen to what the student needs and craft a course to help them reach their goal with custom lessons molded to their particular need.
