About Joseph
As a student, I was a UK International Physics Olympiad team reserve (top 7 in the country for physics) - and qualified twice for BMO2 (top 120 in the country for maths). I achieved a first every year in my bachelor's plus master's degree at Cambridge, and I continue to expand my academic understanding of what I teach. As a classroom teacher, I developed my schools' curriculums in both physics and maths, ensuring that content was taught in an engaging and logical way, tailored to the curriculum and to the needs of students. Now as a tutor I combine academic excellence with a nuanced understanding of how students learn, to help my students succeed in their subjects in a way that works for them. With a deep understanding of my subject and years of teaching experience, I enjoy helping students grasp and apply concepts for themselves, enabling them not only to excel in exams, but to master and enjoy the subject as well.

I offer bespoke online tuition tailored to the needs of my students, focused on developing understanding and intuition, allowing students not only to achieve fantastic exam results, but to enjoy their subject as well. Typical lessons involve a mixture of exam questions coaching combined with interactive teaching on areas students find difficult, however I am happy to adjust my approach to students’ needs.
I tutor maths, further maths, physics, and chemistry, as well as training for the ESAT and TMUA exams, maths and physics olympiads, and university interview preparation. I am enhanced DBS checked and I offer a free taster lesson.
