About Tom
I have been qualified for 3 years. I have experience of an inner city school and a county school.
I have taught texts from the AQA English literature course and English Language course. I have tutored privately in the past, gaining a student one grade above their target.
My undergraduate degree is in Creative Writing, this will benefit your child as I can advice on 'why writer's choose their methods' which is an important when analysing texts. I will also be able to help your child with both Question 5s of the English Language papers as these are creative responses which are worth half of the marks for thr entire English Language GCSE.

I base my tutoring on feedback. Starting with a base comprehension test, individualised to the focus topic, leading to verbal and written feedback which will enable your child recreate their answer with direct improvements.
If your child is not confident with the text we're looking at or the format of the exam, this shall be focused on as a priority.
