About Lily
am a highly qualified and experienced Science tutor, holding a degree in Biomedical Science and a PGCE in Science. With five years of teaching experience across KS3 and KS4, I have developed a strong understanding of both AQA and Edexcel specifications, alongside particular expertise in GCSE Biology.
My experience includes working within SEN and SEMH settings, where I have supported students with a wide range of additional needs. This has strengthened my ability to adapt teaching approaches, build trust, and create structured, supportive learning environments where every student can thrive.
I work with students of all abilities — from those developing core foundations to ambitious learners aiming for top grades. My calm, engaging and caring approach ensures students feel confident, understood and motivated, while lessons remain focused, purposeful and exam-oriented.
Through carefully planned, personalised tuition, I aim to build both academic progress and long-term confidence in science.

Each lesson is tailored to the student’s individual needs, building on their strengths while addressing areas requiring support. We begin by reviewing previous work, identifying topics that need extra attention, and setting clear goals for the session. New topics are introduced with clear explanations, followed by recap and practice to ensure understanding and confidence.
I use a mix of learning styles, including visual aids, textbooks, and exam papers, adapting the approach to match how each student enjoys and absorbs learning. Lessons are relaxed, encouraging, and pressure-free — creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable, engaged, and motivated to excel.
