About Holly
I am a qualified Maths teacher as well as having experience as an examiner for Edexcel. This means I can guide students in specific requirements to help them pass their Maths exam using many different methods. I teach up to GCSE, including Further Maths. As a teacher and a mother of 3 I have seen first-hand most challenges students face. I aim to provide a friendly face to Maths which a lot of students don’t often see.

I believe in building confidence by giving students the tools they need to tackle any maths problem. Rather than learning specific processes I aim to teach a deeper understanding of maths which can be applied to real life as well as the all-important exams. In turn, this helps students build confidence in their own ability.

Holly was a wonderful tutor to our daughter when she was preparing for her GCSES. She had been a family friend for many years and a maths teacher at our local high school. We approached her when our daughter was struggling to retain mathematical knowledge and understand how to solve a variety of problems and calculations. Holly was so patient and explained things very clearly. She gave her the confidence needed to tackle calculations and problems with a variety of strategies. Our daughter was predicted a 2 but with Hollys support she gained a 4! Would highly recommend.
My daughter was really struggling with maths and only wanted to do the foundation paper at GSCE. Even after just 2 sessions with Holly, her confidence grew and she started to understand and enjoy learning. She has had regular sessions with Holly and her predicted maths grade is now 8! She’s even trying for a 9 now.
I can’t recommend Holly highly enough. She understood Emily right from the start and worked through questions calmly, giving her different ways of working things out.
