About Alison
My name is Alison,
For the last five years I have worked in schools as an English/History/Religious Education Teacher, most recently at Star of the Sea College in Brighton. I am also an artist and musician, and I'm currently looking for tutoring work whilst my partner and I set up a small business.
I received my Diploma of Education from Australian Catholic University, and my Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) from the University of Melbourne after receiving an ENTER (ATAR) score of 95.85. I have many strategies to pass on to my students in order to boost their VCE performance.

I am a passionate, and student centred teacher who thoroughly enjoys drawing students into a love of, if not reading, then at least the power of culture and stories.
I understand the incredible difference that tutoring can make to a student's academic life and the ways in which it can boost their confidence.
As a tutor, my experience as an English teacher will provide very specific assistance with essay writing and working with the VCAA curriculum. I can help students develop a deeper understanding of texts and their context which will assist across all areas of their schooling.
