About Rachael

With over 11 years as a working artist and 3+ years teaching, I love helping young artists discover what they can create. I studied Fine Arts at the York/Sheridan Joint Program, and my paintings have been displayed in local galleries. But honestly, my favorite work happens in the classroom, watching kids light up when they realize they can bring their ideas to life on paper. I've worked with students from age 4 to 53, at every skill level imaginable. Some are just learning to hold a pencil with confidence. Others are developing their own style and exploring new techniques. No matter where your child is starting from, I'm here to guide, encourage, and help them grow. My teaching style is warm, patient, and all about nurturing each child's unique creative voice. Let's explore what they're capable of together.

About the lesson

Personalized lessons built around you.

Every student gets a customized approach that's warm, supportive, and designed to match your unique goals, interests, and skill level.

What to expect
First lesson: We'll chat about what you want to achieve, see where you're at, and create a learning plan that actually fits your life.

Ongoing sessions: Each lesson adapts to your pace, plays to your strengths, and keeps any important deadlines in mind (portfolio reviews, exams, performances, you name it).

Progress updates: I'll keep parents in the loop with regular check-ins about how things are going.

I'm all about teaching the whole person. That means building on what you already do well, working through the tricky spots together, and making space for whatever sparks your curiosity.

One of the highlights of my child's week was art class with Rachael. She brought home beautiful pieces, and I could see the improvement over time. Rachael kept me updated on her progress and interests, and asked me questions on my child that could help her be a better teacher. She genuinely cares about educating with the child in mind, and I could not recommend her more.

My child was always excited to go back to art class with Rachael. When I came for pickup a bit early, I could hear her explaining things clearly, and she was very patient.
