About Jessica
Hi, I’m Jessica! I’m a passionate and approachable Health Psychology researcher and tutor with a PhD in Health Psychology and experience teaching and supporting students in higher education.
I currently work as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Liverpool, where I contribute to health and healthcare research. I also hold Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), reflecting my experience and commitment to supporting student learning.
I particularly enjoy helping students understand psychology, research methods, academic/ critical writing, and more complex academic concepts that can sometimes feel overwhelming. Whether you are preparing for an exam, struggling with a particular topic, starting a dissertation or simply looking to build your confidence, I will tailor sessions to your individual needs and goals.
I take a friendly, patient and encouraging approach to tutoring. My aim is not only to help you achieve your academic goals, but also to give you the confidence and skills to become a more independent learner.

My approach to tutoring is friendly, supportive and tailored to each student's individual needs, learning style and academic goals. I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building their confidence.
I use a combination of clear explanations, real-world examples, discussion, practice questions and interactive activities to make complex psychological concepts easier to understand. For research methods and dissertations, I can provide structured guidance on developing research questions, choosing appropriate methodologies, writing academically, understanding qualitative approaches, analysing data and improving academic writing. I encourage students to develop their own critical thinking and independent learning skills rather than simply providing answers.
Lessons are typically **60 minutes**, although longer sessions can be arranged where appropriate, particularly for dissertation or research support.
I have a **PhD in Health Psychology** and currently work as a **Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Liverpool**. I also hold **Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA)** and have experience teaching and supporting students within higher education. My research expertise includes Health Psychology, research methods, qualitative research, academic writing, behavioural science and healthcare research.
I offer lessons to **GCSE, A-Level, undergraduate and postgraduate students**, including students who are working on dissertations, research projects or postgraduate study. Sessions can be adapted to suit the student's level, whether they need help understanding a particular topic, preparing for exams, developing research skills or improving their academic confidence.
