About Manuel

Hello, my name is Manuel. I bring a unique dual perspective to my teaching: I am a healthcare professional (Physical Therapist) in my home country of Peru, and I have 7 years of extensive experience as a professional English-Spanish Medical Interpreter for various companies in the US healthcare system.

Having worked in both clinical and administrative roles, I am fully versed in HIPAA compliance, medical protocols, and the healthcare frameworks of both the US and Latin America. I understand the medical field from the inside out—both as a provider and as the linguistic bridge between doctors and patients.

While grammar is a necessary foundation, my teaching goes far beyond textbook rules. Spanish is a vast, diverse language. Communicating with a patient from Mexico is completely different from treating someone from Peru, Ecuador, Chile, or Argentina. AI and generic translation apps simply cannot capture these critical cultural and dialectal nuances. The way a patient speaks directly affects how we perceive their symptoms, which is why understanding these differences is a growing necessity in modern healthcare.

At the end of the day, the patient is the most important part of any medical interaction. My mission is to empower you to navigate these regional dialects, understand exactly what your patients mean, and know how to express your medical ideas safely and empathetically. Whether you want to communicate independently or learn how to manage and work alongside an interpreter more effectively, I am excited to share my clinical and linguistic expertise to help you provide the best possible care.
