About Leila

Hello! I'm Leila, a passionate multilingual educator, language specialist, and founder of Savoir Studio, with teaching experience dating back to 16-year-old me!

Originally from Germany being raised with two native languages (English and German), I have also spent several years living and working in London. This international background has shaped not only my linguistic expertise but also my understanding of different cultures, educational systems, and communication styles.

I hold a degree in Translation Studies, specialising in English and French, and am currently pursuing further qualifications in German and English law. Alongside teaching, my professional background includes international project management, consulting, and working with people from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.

Education has always been much more than a profession to me. It is one of my greatest passions.

Over the years, I have had the pleasure of supporting schoolchildren, university students, working professionals, and older adults in achieving their individual learning goals.

I believe that a great educator does more than impart knowledge. They inspire curiosity, build confidence, encourage independent thinking, and help students recognise their own potential.

My students know me for my patience, enthusiasm, clear explanations, and ability to make even challenging subjects feel approachable.

As a lifelong learner myself, I understand both the excitement and the challenges of mastering something new. I bring that understanding, together with high academic standards and genuine personal commitment, to every lesson.

About the lesson

My philosophy is simple: every student can make progress when they are taught in a way that truly makes sense to them.

I am a native German and British English speaker with a background in Translation Studies, and teaching experience dating back to 2006 (when I was still a teenager!). Having lived and worked in both Germany and the United Kingdom, I bring an international perspective to my lessons.

My teaching approach

I believe excellent tutoring begins with understanding the individual. I take time to identify each student's strengths, challenges, learning style, and personal goals. I am particularly skilled at recognising why someone struggles with a concept and finding a clear, accessible way to explain it.

My lessons combine academic structure with warmth, patience, encouragement, and genuine enthusiasm. I break down complex topics into manageable steps, use practical examples, and encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and develop confidence in their own abilities.

- A brief review of previous learning and progress
- Clear explanations tailored to the student's level
- Interactive exercises, discussions, and practical applications
- Constructive feedback and targeted strategies for improvement

Who I teach

I work with children, teenagers, university students, professionals, and lifelong learners, from beginners to advanced levels.

My lessons can focus on German or English language development, grammar, pronunciation, conversational fluency, reading comprehension, academic writing, examination preparation, or professional communication.

I also offer patient, structured, ADHD-friendly teaching approaches for students who benefit from additional learning support.

What makes my lessons different?

I don't believe in one-size-fits-all teaching or endless memorisation. I teach students to understand the logic behind what they are learning, recognise patterns, and apply their knowledge confidently.

My goal is not simply to help students achieve better results, but to help them discover what they are truly capable of.
