About Poonam
My interest in physics began with a fascination for how natural laws could explain everyday experiences, from motion to energy to electricity. This curiosity led me to pursue a B.S. in Physics and eventually begin teaching students who needed clearer, more patient explanations. Over 8 years of tutoring, I’ve learned that students succeed most when they feel understood, supported, and encouraged to progress at a steady pace. I adapt my teaching style to each learner, whether they benefit from diagrams, real-world analogies, repeated practice, or detailed step-by-step reasoning. I aim to create a calm, approachable atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring challenging topics without stress. By celebrating each milestone, I help learners build confidence and stay motivated throughout their studies. Outside teaching, I continue to expand my knowledge through personal study, physics discussions, and exploration of new educational strategies. Bringing these insights into lessons helps students experience physics in a relatable, meaningful way. Watching learners strengthen both their understanding and self-belief is deeply rewarding, and supporting them through that process remains one of the most meaningful parts of my work.

Physics becomes far more approachable when students receive clear explanations, calm guidance, and steady encouragement. I begin with foundational topics such as motion, forces, energy, and basic mathematical reasoning, carefully breaking each concept into smaller, understandable steps. This helps students see how physics reflects real-world situations rather than just formulas on a page. By building confidence early, learners feel more prepared to explore deeper topics.
As students progress, I introduce ideas such as momentum, electricity, magnetism, waves, and introductory modern physics. Lessons are shaped around the learner’s goals—whether improving school performance, preparing for exams, or developing long-term comprehension. I use guided practice, step-by-step examples, and structured reasoning to help students understand patterns, approach problems logically, and strengthen analytical confidence without feeling overwhelmed.
Over time, students begin to appreciate the logical structure of physics as topics come together more naturally. Many discover that physics becomes more enjoyable once they understand both the conceptual framework and the problem-solving strategies behind it. My goal is to create an environment where learners feel supported, capable, and motivated as they build strong scientific thinking skills and lasting confidence.
