About Javis
I’m a physics graduate at Durham University and I’m passionate about helping more students discover the excitement and relevance of science. I believe that Physics and Mathematics should feel connected to the real world, not distant or abstract and my goal is to make these subjects engaging and approachable for everyone.
Academically, I performed strongly in both my SPM and A-Levels:
- SPM: A+ in Physics, General Mathematics and Additional Mathematics
- A-Levels: A in Physics, A in Mathematics and B in Further Mathematics
- Bachelor Degree: 2:1 in Physics

After expressing interest in my classes, students or their parents are welcome to contact me via WhatsApp or message to discuss specific areas of difficulty and schedule tutoring dates. My tutoring consists of two parts: explanation and practice questions, forming a standard one-hour session. Extensions are possible with prior notice.
My explanations emphasise conceptual understanding rather than pure memorisation of formulae. Therefore, I use mathematical animations, diagrams and derivations to help students understand concepts fundamentally. This teaching style was developed based on my experience during my undergraduate studies in the UK and it is particularly helpful for students who wish to pursue higher education in STEM. This part typically takes around 20 to 30 minutes.
The rest of the time is dedicated to practice questions. Practice makes perfect. Depending on the syllabus, practice questions are typically chosen from past papers, textbooks or unresolved, difficult problems from the students' assignments.
