About Evan
Having experienced school before, during, and after Covid-19 myself, I understand and relate to the impact that it had on the mental health and executive functioning of many students. Paying attention, initiating and completing tasks like homework became more challenging for many students including me. I am well equipped to guide students who suffer from mood disorders or ADHD by using skills and strategies that I've learned in order to cope with my own mood disorder and ADHD.

I'm most effective at helping students understand topics they have already started learning in class and are struggling with. I like to use students' assignments as a starting point to my lessons. This method builds a foundation for learning that will stick better than repeating a lecture they've already heard and were likely confused or overwhelmed by. It helps my students understand the material gradually while we reinforce a step-by-step process they can use on future exams and assignments. It also allows my students to make visible progress towards completing an assignment.
