About Alex
Hi there! I am a high achieving and passionate Aerospace Engineering Graduate. I am a dedicated, passionate and confident individual who knew what it was like to struggle in a school environment, and even had a personal tutor myself in secondary school. Therefore I know how to get the best from students, and will work patiently and professionally to boost the proficiency and confidence of your child.
After my early struggles with poor classroom concentration, and following a huge amount of hard work I was proud to leave school with very high grades, including 8 A*'s and 2 A's at GCSE level, and AAB in my A-Levels including Maths and Physics. I now want to give back, and spread my studying methods to the young pupils of today!
Whilst studying for my degree I tutored over 10 different students in various subject areas. All of which vastly improved their grades, attitudes towards learning and confidence. References can be provided upon request.
During my time at Sixth Form I also academically tutored many Primary and Secondary school students. Here I hugely improved their outlook on learning and school in general, whilst boosting their grades and fast-tracking their way to success.
I hold vast experience working closely with children and teenagers. I ran my own babysitting organisation for over 5 years and also volunteered at the local Beaver and Cubs organisation as a Junior Leader, where I was DBS checked.

Initially, I believe it is important to identify the key areas in which I feel the student is struggling. This is done in a relaxed, non-exam environment. This helps me identify the best ways in which to support the student's education. Furthermore it allows me to tailor my programme to your son/daughter's needs. From there onwards, sessions will include completing unfinished classroom activities, homework, extra revision and worksheets, where I will regularly check a deeper level of understanding, which is key to the student's success.
My teaching style is friendly and knowledgeable, simplifying concepts and using memorable learning techniques. Most importantly I strive for the pupil to enjoy the learning experience.

I would highly recommend Alex if you are looking for a friendly, reliable, knowledgeable tutor. We employed him to teach GCSE science to our daughter after gaining a level 2 in her mock chemistry exam. We really liked Alex’s teaching style and with his help our daughter gained two 7s in her dual science GCSE award (fourth highest in her school!) . This was a huge improvement over just a four month period - thanks to Alex.
