About Moneypenny
I am a former BBC journalist who branched out from broadcast media to begin a career in the city as an economist and financial adviser. Very early on I realised that I loved the challenge of running my own business and I went on to run three small but successful PR agencies alongside continuing my freelance journalism however my biggest accolade perhaps in public speaking terms is that I won the Lloyds Bank public speaking school championship when I was 15 years old and the reason I am most proud of this is that I had just transferred from a council school to a posh public school and I was really worried that my voice would never fit in with all these very wealthy people so to win the award competing against them was a big achievement and really did help my confidence In total I've had 25 years in PR and communications representing major blue chip players like Microsoft IBM and even the Virgin group where I once drank vodka with Richard Branson from an ice sculpture of a naked couple.. The statue was there to entertain journalists and that is a good link because journalists are the most difficult audience to satisfy and for 20 years that was my target area so I gradually learnt by speaking at many financial and technology events how to adapt my style accordingly. Mostly as you can tell I was self-taught but I did earlier on in my career learn a great deal from formal training given by national newspaper journalists and public speakers as part of my grounding in the busy world of the rat race as it was back in the 1990s and yes I am that old. The only thing you really need to know about me is that I am madly in love with my two little dogs and formula 1 motor racing other than that I have about 80,000 social media followers and I'm a regular speaker on several social media platforms talking about scientific topics most of the time

Your presentation style has to reflect who you are in order for a natural flowing ambience but most importantly to put you at ease and allow your full potential to flow through. My lessons begin with building your inner confidence and belief to recognise your ability to provide a powerful and knowledgeable presentation to audiences at all levels and of all sizes. To put you at ease I also like to take examples of presentations you have done in the past or that you may need to do in the future and we will look at injecting some relevant but appropriate humour as this helps both you and your audience relax and enjoy. Making notes is often down to style choice but I will teach you methods that resonate with your strengths whether they be verbal, aural or even visual as we can bring in creative boards and also use clever memory tools. Sometimes learning breathing techniques through gentle stretching exercises may be appropriate but always it is the preparation which is so important for getting a final polished product. I will also teach you how to use the best AI tools to help put together the best content.
