About Carrie

Greetings, I'm Carrie! Originally hailing from China, I embarked on a new chapter in my life by relocating to Australia five years ago to pursue my university education. With a bachelor's degree in business and a master's degree in professional accounting, I've since joined a local company in Tasmania.

One of my greatest joys is connecting with people from diverse backgrounds, forging friendships, and engaging in meaningful conversations. Through these interactions, I've come to appreciate the power of practice in language acquisition. It's clear that using a language actively is key to improvement.

Understanding this firsthand, I'm excited to share my passion for language learning and help others on their journey. Here on Superprof, I look forward to meeting wonderful individuals and offering my expertise to make language learning both enjoyable and effective. Together, we can embark on a fulfilling linguistic adventure!

About the lesson

Techniques and Teaching Methodology:
I employ a dynamic and interactive teaching approach designed to make learning Mandarin enjoyable and effective. My techniques include a combination of:

Customized Curriculum: I tailor each lesson to suit my students' individual needs and goals. Whether you're a beginner looking to build a strong foundation or an advanced learner seeking fluency, I have a plan for you.

Role-Playing and Real-Life Scenarios: I incorporate role-playing exercises and real-life scenarios to help students apply their language skills in practical situations, boosting their confidence in using Mandarin in real-life contexts.

Regular Practice: I encourage consistent practice and provide homework assignments to reinforce learning between lessons.

Typical Length of a Lesson:
My typical lessons are 60 minutes long, providing a comprehensive learning experience while maintaining focus and engagement.

Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor:
I hold an official secondary PSC certificate issued by the National Language Working Committee and National Education Commission, Ministry of Radio, Film and Television in Mandarin Chinese and have over 2 years of experience as a tutor. My expertise extends to various proficiency levels, from beginners to advanced learners. I have successfully helped students prepare for language proficiency exams such as the HSK, SAT Chinese, and IB Chinese.

Who Are My Lessons For (Level, Age, etc.):
My lessons are suitable for:

All Levels: Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refine your advanced skills, I can customize lessons to match your proficiency level.

All Ages: I welcome students of all ages, from children to adults, and can adjust teaching methods to cater to the specific needs and goals of each age group.

Travelers and Business Professionals: If you're planning a trip to China or working in a Chinese-speaking environment, I can provide specialized lessons to help you communicate effectively in those contexts.

My aim is to make learning Mandarin an enjoyable journey for my students, fostering a deep understanding of the language and culture along the way. Together, we will achieve your language learning goals while having fun along the way!
