About Nikita

We first need to identify if improvement is required in which branch of chemistry. I would classify them into two branches for basic understanding: Physical chemistry and organic chemistry. Physical chemistry cannot be mastered completely. There are far too many anomalies and irregularities in the theoretical part. However, a lot more of basic science like thermodynamics, equilibrium, and physical states of matter are in this branch. So, if you have any problems with this part of chemistry, I suggest you brush up on your basics and see this part of chemistry as any other subject that has principles like physics or math. Organic chemistry, on the other hand, is a different beast altogether. Though it appears to be simple, it can get confusing and yes, annoying. My suggestion for this branch is, if you are learning reactions, understand the mechanism of the reaction. Once that happens, things will become much simpler. Also, if you are studying alcohols today and shift to aldehydes and ketones tomorrow, make sure you brush up on alcohols before starting the next part. Keep writing. These reactions can be forgotten easily. So, every time you study, keep writing the reaction with reagents, it is the only way. Most importantly, don’t view chemistry as some sort of a nasty Pandora’s box. It is a basic subject, which is very soft and doesn’t need much analysis unless you are doing research. With hard work and effort, you can do it.
