About Laura
I am currently studying Medicine at the University of Oxford and have always enjoyed learning about Biology and understanding how the different concepts fit together. Having achieved a 9 in GCSE Biology and an A* in A-level Biology, I have continued to develop my knowledge through studying Medicine at university.
I want to tutor because I enjoy helping others understand subjects that they may initially find difficult. I believe that Biology becomes much more enjoyable when you understand the underlying concepts rather than simply memorising large amounts of information.

Having completed three years of Medicine at the University of Oxford and achieving a 9 in GCSE Biology and an A* in A-level Biology, I have developed an extensive knowledge of biology, from fundamental concepts to more advanced areas of human biology. I hope to pass this knowledge on to students through engaging and well-structured lessons.
Lessons will typically last one hour and will involve a PowerPoint presentation covering key concepts and information required for exams, followed by a series of questions to test and consolidate understanding. However, I appreciate that this approach may not work for every student, so I am happy to take feedback and adapt lessons according to individual preferences and learning needs.
My approach focuses on teaching fundamental and high-yield biology concepts that are important for developing a strong understanding of the subject as a whole. I am also very adaptable to the needs of each student and can take a more personalised approach, focusing on specific topics they may be struggling with or would like additional support with.
Ultimately, my goal is to help students develop their own understanding and confidence in biology, rather than relying solely on memorisation.
