About Frédérique
I am a full-time tutor with a passion for languages, literacy, and supporting people learning. I am originally from Québec, French is my mother tongue, and I have completed most of my schooling and university education in French. Combined with my teaching experience, this background gives me a strong understanding of language acquisition and early literacy development.
I have a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences. My minors are in Education, Psychology, and Multidisciplinary Studies (with a Focus on Languages), and I have completed coursework in both French and English. Some of the courses include:

My lessons are completely tailored to the needs and goals of each learner. Some sessions may focus on vocabulary, while others may concentrate on grammar. My aim is to help you (or your child) reach your learning objectives.
We might play a game (French Battleship? French Connect Four? Really? — Yes, really!), watch a video and discuss it, or dive into a focused grammar lesson. My lessons are a melting pot of activities designed to make learning engaging and effective.
When working with children, I believe that positive reinforcement is the most effective approach — showing them with genuine enthusiasm that they are doing well, celebrating their achievements, and using fun rewards like stickers for those who enjoy them. This helps build self-confidence and motivation.
I always adapt to each child’s individual needs. Since every learner is different, I pay close attention to how they respond, observing and listening carefully before tailoring my methods to suit them. As an enthusiastic person by nature, I also bring an element of fun and humour into lessons at the right moments to keep learning enjoyable.
