About Dylan
I have been a teaching assistant at various universities for the past 7 years, and am currently returning to university to pursue a masters degree in mathematics after working as a software developer for a number of years.
I have also been involved in the selection and training program for the South African team for the Pan-African and International Mathematics Olympiads, but have had clients at all levels, not only students who are involved in mathematics contests.

I give lessons online with an external touch screen monitor that is used as a virtual whiteboard. The notes that are created can be made available to the student, and if desired, I can record the sessions.
I primarily have experience with tutoring high-school and university students, and students involved in various mathematical contests, having myself been a member of the South African team for the International Mathematics Olympiad.
I believe that it is important to emphasize understanding the content that is being taught rather than trying to memorize a set method to solve each type of problem that might be encountered. It is also important to reinforce knowledge that a student already has. Often a student is able to make a lot more progress in tackling problems than they anticipated, and it is often a minor misconception that is holding them back.
