About Tomi
Hi, I’m a university student with a strong interest in Mathematics, Economics and finance. I’ve always enjoyed understanding how things work and finding ways to explain ideas clearly to other people, which is one of the reasons I enjoy tutoring.
I achieved a Grade 8 in GCSE Mathematics and an A in A-Level Economics, and I also have previous experience tutoring students preparing for the 11+. Having recently gone through the GCSE and A-Level exam process myself, I understand the pressure students can feel and the importance of having someone who can explain things in a clear and relatable way.
Outside of studying, I enjoy playing football, going to the gym and developing my interest in finance. I’m friendly, patient and easy to talk to, and I want my lessons to feel comfortable while still helping students make genuine progress.

My approach to tutoring is focused on making lessons clear, engaging and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I believe students learn best when they understand the reasoning behind a method rather than simply memorising it, so I use clear explanations, worked examples and guided practice before encouraging students to work independently.
Each lesson lasts approximately one hour and is adapted to the student’s ability and goals. I identify areas they need to improve, explain concepts clearly, and work through increasingly challenging questions together. I also focus on exam technique to help students apply their knowledge confidently.
I achieved a Grade 8 in GCSE Mathematics and an A in A-Level Economics, alongside previous experience tutoring students preparing for the 11+ examinations.
My lessons are aimed primarily at GCSE Mathematics and A-Level Economics students, while I am also happy to support younger students in Mathematics.
