About Navya
Hello, I’m Navya, a Computer Science and Mathematics graduate from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Along with my international academic background, I bring professional experience as a software developer, which allows me to connect mathematics with real-world applications. I believe math is about building clarity and confidence, not memorization. My classes are structured yet interactive: quick recaps, clear explanations, problem-solving together, and short practice tasks to reinforce learning. This approach helps students truly understand concepts and apply them independently. I teach school students strengthening their basics, college learners tackling advanced topics, and adults revisiting mathematics. My goal is to make learning approachable, engaging, and confidence-building for every student.

As a tutor, I believe that every student learns differently, and my role is to adapt my teaching style to meet their needs. I start each session by understanding where the student currently stands, identifying gaps in their knowledge, and setting clear, achievable goals. My classes usually begin with a quick recap and doubt-solving session from previous topics, followed by an explanation of new concepts through step-by-step examples. I encourage students to actively participate by solving problems with me, asking questions, and discussing multiple ways to approach the same problem. Towards the end of each class, I assign short practice problems to reinforce learning and build confidence. After every class, I will give a detailed and unique question sheet to every student for practice. I focus on creating a balance between conceptual clarity and practical application. Instead of rote memorization, I connect mathematics to real-world situations and problem-solving strategies, helping students see why concepts matter. This approach not only strengthens understanding but also improves long-term retention. What makes me different as a teacher is my international academic background and experience in both mathematics and computer science. I bring in logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and real-world examples from my engineering journey to make learning engaging and meaningful. My classes are intended for school students who want to build strong fundamentals, college students preparing for exams, and adults who wish to revisit or strengthen their mathematical skills. No matter the level, my aim is to make mathematics approachable, structured, and confidence-building.
