About Catherine
I am a native Mandarin speaker that grew up in the US. I moved to China when I was in high school, during which my Mandarin fluency improved significantly from advanced Mandarin classes and studying for my IB Mandarin exam. My five years of advanced Mandarin study equipped me with the knowledge and skills of how to learn the language effectively, and how to teach it. I have also had more than five years of tutoring experience teaching kids from ages 3-14, of which I have taught a variety of subjects. Most of the students I worked with were Mandarin-speaking students, which developed my ability to transfer fluently between the two subjects.

The time allotted to each area will vary depending on the student’s strengths and weaknesses. Other areas and activities may be added per student or parent request. I strive to make my lessons fun and engaging, and tailored to fit individual needs.
