I believe a good Mandarin teacher should be student-centred, interactive, and immersive. This involves using a variety of techniques such as role-playing, language games, and multimedia resources to engage students and facilitate active learning. I also often incorporate both formal and informal instruction, providing ample opportunities for students to practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Additionally, my lessons include education in both the language and the culture, allowing students to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of Chinese customs, traditions, and values. Moreover, effective Mandarin teaching should be adaptive to individual students' learning styles, paces, and interests. A suitable Mandarin teaching method can help students achieve their language goals and develop a lifelong love for the language and culture by providing a dynamic and personalised learning environment.
