About Jennifer
I graduated from UT Austin with a major in French and minor in Chinese. I've been formally offering private lessons since 2009. I have experience teaching both heritage and non-heritage students at 3 different Chinese schools in Austin from 2010 thru 2014. I eventually had to stop serving at the Chinese school as my private tutoring continued to expand. I'm currently preparing to start my own afterschool tutoring program with a former colleague at the Chinese school.

I tailor my lessons to the student's needs. Depending on the individual's learning style, I may or may not apply the immersion technique in which I speak only in the target language. When appropriate, I would use some English to help explain more difficult topics. In order for the tutoring lessons to be effective, it's a teamwork between the student, his/her parent(s), and the tutor (me). So I always provide recommendations to students as well as their parents on a regular basis. Often times, I am more than just a tutor for my students, I am also their friend and their mentor.

Rates may vary depending on the objective(s) and needs of the student. I reserve a 24-hour cancellation policy. You'll have to pay for 60% of the scheduled session if you cancel within 24 hours of the scheduled session. Cancelling less than 1 hour prior to the start of the scheduled session is considered as 'no show.' You're responsible for 100% of the tuition for no show. Excessive no shows may result in the discontinuation of our lessons.
