About Angelina
I have been playing the piano since the age of four. Taught by my father, I grew up in a very musical world - often going to concerts and shows throughout my childhood.
At the age of eight I began to play the harp and worked my way through my ABRSM exams. I was offered a place at Chetham's School of Music at the age of sixteen. I studied there for two years before embarking on a degree in Harp Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Since graduating and moving back to my hometown of York in 2018 I have built a private teaching studio, teaching harp and piano both in person and online. I have students who have been coming to me for seven years now and it is such a joy to see them progress over the years.
As well as being a teacher I am a working freelance performer. I play for local orchestras and shows, as well as numerous weddings throughout the year.

I have been teaching harp, piano, and music theory lessons at home and online for the past 15 years. I have worked at Chetham's School of Music as both a harp teacher and a practice supervisor. My students consistently gain high marks in their ABRSM exams.
My teaching is based on a solid foundation of technique and theoretical knowledge, and my goal is to foster a life-long love of music and an enjoyment of playing.
Lessons are generally 45 minutes long. I like to start with scales or a few technical exercises, before moving onto the pieces that you are working on at the moment. Music theory can be integrated into the lesson if needed.
I am more than happy to teach complete beginners, I can teach you how to read music. My minimum age is 10 years old.

Angelina is my harp teacher and she is brilliant and an absolute professional. She is calm, patient and kind, and explains things in a really helpful way. It’s such a lovely teaching environment where it’s totally relaxed, and we can have a little giggle also. I have progressed so much. Angelina really cares about your progress and wants you to do well. I started harp as a complete beginner in January and I’m sitting my grade one in the autumn. With Angelina’s support you will be playing a new instrument, that once seemed so alien, in no time!
I returned to learning the piano after c.50 years and have found Angelina to be extremely supportive and encouraging. She is calm and friendly - her teaching style is relaxed but also focussed and progress is steady. The lessons are very enjoyable. I thoroughly recommend her to anyone!
I could not be happier with the progress in learning the harp with Angelina. Angelina is so reliably knowledgeable and an excellent educator with great sense of humour.
