About P James
I have an MS in Physics and am working on my PhD in Physics. I have taught Physics at the high school, college, and university levels and have tutored in physics, mathematics, and philosophy extensively for over 15 years.

I work very hard to figure out what the student already knows, and then build on that knowledge base. I don't use gimmicks like FOIL (First-Outer-Inner-Last) for teaching; I help the student build an understanding based on prior knowledge, e.g., in teaching a students how to multiply binomials, I have them tell me how they multiply 2 digit numbers and show them how this can be directly applied to multiplying binomials. This is my approach for the subjects I teach/tutor.
