About Riya
Hi! I’m a former Microsoft Tech Consultant, Computer Science engineer, and Data Science & AI professional — but my journey with teaching started much before Microsoft.
During my Computer Science degree at Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune, I discovered that I genuinely enjoyed explaining things to others. I would often find myself helping classmates understand coding concepts, solving problems together, and breaking down topics that initially seemed complicated.
I graduated Rank 1 across my department with a CGPA of 9.16, and eventually turned my technical knowledge into a career. I worked at Microsoft for 3 years as a Tech Consultant, while also completing my postgraduate degree in Data Science & AI from IIT Roorkee.
But throughout this journey, one thing stayed constant: I loved teaching.
I’ve now been teaching coding and Computer Science for over 10 years, and I’ve learned that being good at a subject and being good at teaching it are two different things.
You don’t need someone who simply knows the answer.
You need someone who can explain why it works, break a difficult problem into smaller pieces, and patiently build on those smaller pieces to understand the whole concept.
That’s exactly how I teach.

And if you currently feel that “coding or computer science just isn’t for me,” don’t worry.
I’ve taught enough students to know that very often, it isn’t the student who is the problem — it’s simply the way the concept was explained.
